We just bought a new house. It already had a gas cook top, it looked like it was original with the house...built in 60's. Before we moved in we had to clean house, paint walls and repair flooring. Thought we could keep the old stuff for now and get new appliances later down the road. Walked in one day and kept hearing click...click...click...it was the old stove trying to start. We unplugged it right away and ordered a new one. This is so much nicer. I love how it cooks even and quickly. Haven't had any issues. Highly recommend.

1. La garantía es muy corta. 2. La diferencia entre flama alta y flama baja es casi imperceptible. 3. El ahorro de gas no es significativo. 4. Huele a gas por debajo de la parrilla, ya pedí una prueba de hermeticidad, pero al parecer como la instalé una semana después de expirar la garantía voy a tener que cubrir los gastos que se deriven de esta fuga. 5. Se raya muy fácilmente por ser de un acero satinado. 6. La limpieza de las parrillas negras es bastante complicado por su tamaño y peso. 7. El tamaño y la distancia entre cada hornilla me parece muy conveniente. 8. El uso de los materiales lucen de primera calidad, salvo la base de las hornillas, que son una especie de magnesio cuya superficie se mancha con demasiada facilidad y casi no se pueden retirar las manchas.

Nice looking and lots of usable space

Went through a ton of reviews and forums for user Feedback. This stove top is fantastic for usable space, and it's convenience. Moving pans and pots around is easy. The cleaning is simple and moving the grates is no problem. I saw someone saying how heavy they are. If 7 pounds is too much to just move a grate with two hands, then it's not the makers problem. And it heats evenly on all the different burners.

works well after adjustments

The stove top is attractive and works well. We had to buy a special screwdriver to adjust the flame as the lowest setting was way to high. Adjustment is tricky because turning the flame in the lowering position then brings it up high again as the adjustment turn it circular and goes quickly from lowest to highest.

Despite still learning how high the heat gets on all of the individual burners I love our 5-burner gas cooktop. Our old GE 4-burner while adequate does not match up to this Maytag. I love the sleek stainless steel look and the cleanup is much easier than our old cooktop. There is adequate space between the burners so multiple large pots may be utilized at once without feeling cramped. My initial attempt at making coconut jasmine rice resulted in a boil over I never experienced on my GE but as I said earlier, the cleanup was a breeze and I've learned how to control the heat enough since then.

I have been using my new gas cooktop for over a week now and I am disappointed with the knobs being so close to the burners. The knobs get hot from the burners so you have to be careful when you touch them. Also when cleaning the cooktop the burners move easily so if you bump them the metal pieces fall off and you have to stop and put them back in place. It becomes time consuming.

This Maytag product was easy to install into our granite counter tops, and also operates great. My wife and I like the heavy duty grates, the ease to remove and clean around each burner. Cooktop works great, but!

I'm very happy with how evenly my new gas stove top cooks, but, the clean-up is awful! It's a metal plate, rather than glass and it's very hard to get greasy smudges off. I have to remove the heavy grates plus all burner tops, wipe everything off with a sponge, then get a spray cleaner to try to get all the smears off. I certainly am not happy with that.

I bought this cooktop to replace an old unit. At the store this unit was recommended for its cooking performance and easy of cleaning. It lived up to the recommendation. Works perfectly on both high and low power. Well constructed and sturdy. It is very easy to clean. Burners are sealed so stuff doesn't fall into the unit. Just remove the grate and sturdy knobs and wipe the smooth stainless top. Cleans quickly and easily and put it back together in a jiffy.
