Noisiest dryer I have every owned -- and this replaced a Crosley Conservator. I actually had SQ send a repairman after it was first installed because I thought it was malfunctioning. I still can't quite get over it. However, it dries well. I have no issue with its intended purpose -- but please, for the love of harmony - install it in a separate building. Even my cats got freaked out over the grinding noise.

We purchased the DR5004WE to replace our last dryer that lasted 19 years. The features and operation of the DR5004WE were comparable with a few extras vs the last unit. The steam refresh options is nice and works well. The sense drying works as expected and helps optimize efficiency. We recommend this unit.

I am very pleased with our new dryer. It works so much better than our old one, less time spent drying clothes. It's nice and quiet and easy to use. I don't care for the design of the lint filter, but have gotten use to it and it's not a big deal. Fits a ton of clothes. The door closes a bit hard, but I've also gotten used to it and learned how to easily shut it. Overall, I am pleased woth the dryer.

On delivery day when the men went to attach the electric cord to the dryer, one of the 3 holes where the cord screws on to the dryer had no threads to secure the screw so repair men had to be called before the dryer could be installed.
Today the plastic piece on the dryer door that accepts the metal (I think) piece on the dryer itself to allow the door to stay closed, broke. It'll be a week before a repair man can come to fix it.
I've owned the dryer for two months.
This does not put Speed Queen in a good light.

This is a great dryer except for the end of cycle notification - one short, not very loud buzz as it stops. I would like a long, loud buzz that starts several minutes before the load stops tumbling. We are busy people and really dislike going into check on the dryer only to find it has stopped and we didn't hear the buzz so now we are left with wrinkles.

I've been a Spped Queen fan since I bought a top losd washer many years ago. Washer runs perfect after many many loads of laundry. The ending signal is not loud enough. And there is no way to adjust it. I am hearing impaired and this is maddening for me to not know when the dryer is finished.
We live in a bilevel home and my laundry room is on the bottom level. I did not have this problem with my old dryer.

I purchased a DR5 model in April 2023 after doing a lot of research. It is easy to operate and without all the bells and whistles. Since everything is being made cheaper by the regulations of our current government, it is the best on the market. Wish I had purchased a Speed Queen washer, but I did not know how much our appliance industry had been affected in the last 2 years and purchased another well know brand that has been a really bad experience. I just wish the dryer had a glass door and a countdown on the drying cycle.

This DR5003WG gas dryer is the best dryer we have ever owned. The construction is far superior to most "consumer" dryers. There is nothing cheap or flimsy about it. It dries exceedingly well, is very quiet and Energy Star rated. It has a large capacity, well lit interior. The controls are solid feeling and easy to use. No Bluetooth or WiFi gimmicks, just good solid, simple construction. Highly recommended.

The first washer I purchased was returned and replaced after the start pad malfunctioned 3 times requiring replacement of pad each time. The second washer has had repair for the same problem. With the dryer I never know how my clothes will turn out, most of the time they're a wrinkled mess and often are not dry after an hour in the dryer. The irony is that I purchased Speed Queen with the impression that they required little to no repair service, unfortunately that has not been the case.

Replaced a junk Samsung machine. I've had it with foreign junk that has lousy build quality, horrible service and bumbling techs. I'm so soured on Samsung. Their machines are junk, the techs are poorly trained and repairs appear to center on "replace parts until it runs". That can take months.
Did a lot of research on machines and Speed Queen won. The dryer has a large door, easy clothing entry and removal and the interior light stays on. The Samsung had a smaller access door and the drum light timed out which was really annoying.
The sensor dry works great (it was useless on the Samsung). I like the simple controls, the filter is easy to clean and the materials are all top rate. I do wish the lint filter was stainless steel mesh. That's my only "con".
The dryer is well made and it's heavy. I read some online reviews that didn't like the lack of color choices. I don't care, it's a dryer, not a Porsche (although it's built better than a Porsche!) and it's made in the USA. Best dryer I've ever owned (gas).

I bought this to replace a Whirlpool dryer that was 10 months old. It did not dry clothes in one cycle especially towels. My Speed Queen does a fantastic job of drying. The only non-positive comment and giving only four stars for quality of machine is because it has a squeak that sounds like a bird chirping. Very simple to operate.

There seems to be only three options to dry laundry.
1). 30 minutes; 2) 60 minutes; or 3) dry sensor. I would rather be able to select 20 minutes, or 50 minutes, etc, depending on the laundry I am drying. The dry sensor never seems to be done drying the laundry when it signals that the laundry is done. I find that I am either timing it in my own m, or I have keep checking to see if it's dry.
