This is the absolute worst microwave I have ever had in my life! Settings are correct and it still burns/overheats the ourside or edge of what you are heating up and doesn't heat up the middle. To the point it's still frozen sometimes! The $50 microwave in my camper works 100 times better and is more consistent then this junk. The whole set of Bosch appliances we purchased last year are terrible. Not one of them is great. Stuff freezes in the fridge. Stuff gets freezer burned in the freezer. The stove takes FOREVER to heat up and the dishwasher doesn't dry dishes. Total bust on this purchase. Wish we could have a re-do and not purchase any Bosch appliances. So disappointed.

Junk that breaks just out of warranty

Three of my four Bosch appliances dies just out of warranty. Cost of repairs is higher than replacement. The parts for this microwave are not available?! If it's a model still for sale new, parts are available. I'm switching brands.

This microwave was installed in a new construction condo we purchased in March 2020. Less than 2 years later it started sparking when we used it. We paid over $300 to get it repaired. 8 months later the same thing happened again, and the replacement part is backordered for 4 months. I would expect a new microwave to last about 10 years, especially at this price point. It's clear this was built to last about 2 years, just past the warranty. It seems dangerous and irresponsible to build a microwave that is prone to sparking fires so easily.

Purchased in Nov. 2017. The microwave broke for the first time in Feb. 2021, but a part was backordered so we had to wait until June 2021 for it to be repaired. Now, a little over a year later it's broken again with the same issue. Based off these reviews it seems like a common problem and not a fluke. This is especially frustrating because this microwave is an uncommon size so our options are very limited.

Ours 500 series was installed when the house was built in 2018. It started burning through waveguides in 2021. Three years for a $1,400 microwave. Apparently 27" is an odd size. Trying to find one from another manufacturer to fill the 27" whole in the wall, but coming up empty.

We're thrilled with our new Bosch microwave oven. In addition to its very attractive glass and stainless steel design, it has lots of features that make meal preparation much easier. I use it to soften butter or cream cheese when baking, to defrost the meat (that I usually forget to pull out of the freezer), and it pops a perfect bag of popcorn.
It's roomy and easy to clean, as well. Love it!

I was very impressed by the appearance of this product in our kitchen. Not only does it function well it looks very professional. I also like that the door drops down. It has been a great product for us and out performs other microwaves we've had in the past. Definitely recommend!

Every time I open the door now the breaker trips. A quick google search brings up a lot of instances of this happening. Of course I'm a few months out of warranty now.

We've had this microwave for 3 years. It started sparking and after getting an authorized repair person out they told us it's "bad luck" and that the entire microwave needs replacing. Now we are getting the run around trying to get it replaced by Bosch. We have been going back and forth trying to get them the necessary info for replacement. I cannot find original order number to save my life! Extremely disappointed in the prodcut durabiity. Feeling very stuck as it is built into our kitchen.

Sparking and uneven heating just after 2 years

We had installed Bosch Microwave in August 2019 and Lst 3 weeks back it start sparks inside. Changed the Waveguide still sparking inside. Its been uneven in heating also for some time. We were surprised when we were researching customer reviews the sparking has been a major complaint from many customers. It is surprising after paying $1200 for microwave of BOSCH brand, its dyeing in 2 years usage.
We know it's out of 1-year lim1-year warranty but this is major manufacturing /design defect. We had GE for 15 years with no problem and were shocked with the quality of BOSCH products now.

Average Microwave for the Price

The Bosch built-in microwave is average at best. Many foods cook unevenly, especially bacon and popcorn. We are currently having issues with it sparking/arcing and being hyper-sensitive to microwaveable packaging. Hoping if we replace the waveguide this will solve the issue. Unsure if this is a frequent issue with their microwaves or if we have a one-off issue.

Bought a new construction home with all Bosch appliances in the kitchen in Nov 2018. Bosch built-in microwave just went out while cooking some microwave popcorn. Sparks and buzzing for less than 5 seconds. Certified Bosch repairman says magnetron is shot and unrepairable. If I knew I was buying disposable microwave that I would have to replace every three years at $1300 a pop, I would have gone with a different brand. The microwave in our prior house chugged away for 15 years without an issue and cost us a 1/4 of what this one did. Be sure and note that the warranty on these is ONE year. Now I'm concerned with the other expensive Bosch time bombs ticking away in out kitchen (double wall ovens/dishwasher/fridge/stovetop).

The microwave was exactly what we wanted for our new home. We bought it and had it installed. It worked for only a year before it broke down the first time... just outside of the warranty window. We've owned it for 5 years now and have had to have it fixed 3 times. With this last time that we have fixed the microwave, we have officially spent more on diagnostics, parts and labor than we originally spent on the microwave. It is not worth the money to turn around and pay for it again within 5 years. Don't waste your time or money on purchasing a bosch microwave.

We bought the microwave combo and dishwasher. Dishwasher broke within the first month, fixed with not issues but the stacking is useless. The microwave light is very dim and after 4 years the microwave just stopped working. We have had cheaper microwaves last many more years. I agree with everyone's comments, bosch is not the same quality, thus prices should reflect the basic quality. I will never buy a bosch dishwasher. Not sure what to do about the microwave.... I'm afraid to purchase another one.

Problem with front panel

Upon installatiin we discovered a problem with the lighting on the front panel. I notified Bosch and they advised me to contact one of their repair companies in my area. Bosch had them order the replacement part and I had it scheduled for service. The repair was done and the unit works so far.

this is the second bosch built in microwave to fail in 4 years. the first one failed (not repairable) after 2 years. out of warrenty. we bought a second from you and this one failed today. same problem. sparking and burning smell. there is some serious design flaw. fire risk. will never buy another bosch product . rating forced me to give 1 star...I would give 0

As with our other Bosch appliances, this unit just oozes quality. It feels solid. The sensor touch buttons are easy to use and easy to clean. This unit does a great job of cooking or reheating. We love it!

Bought this microwave because Bosch is supposed to be such a great brand. For the price, it should be. But we are now about 18 months since we installed this microwave and it is broken (dead magnetron) and cannot be repaired. Sounds like many other customers have had the same experience. Sure it looks nice, but for the price I would have expected much better quality.

Built a new house & moved in 8/14/19 -all new Bosch appliances. Had problems with dishwasher & refrigerator, but the microwave is not repairable (per Bosch repairman) It died less than 14 months after install, but 6 weeks after 1 yr warranty. However I was told (by Bosch on the phone & in home repairman) that parts maybe covered due to problem. Repairman told me this was a dangerous situation & the only other time he encountered this problem the company (not Bosch) replaced the microwave at no charge. Bosch told me it would take 7-10 days to determine if they would replace. 44 days later I am still waiting for a callback. I just waited an hour on hold. When a woman answered the phone I started to explain this was my 5th phone call & I waited an hour on hold, so if I seemed hostile, I didn't mean to be, because I knew it wasn't her fault. At that point she hung up on me & I'm back on hold. If any one cares, I want to know about file # 2393185. I've paid $50 for a microwave that was still working when I gave it away 10 years later. This one cost $1,200.00 and worked less that 14 months.

We have also had the same experience with a dim display. Even though the setting is on high, the display is not possible to read after just under two years of use. The microwave is now sparking periodically. I have looked for exposed metal with no luck. Not a great quality product.
