Less than 2 years old & it's dead

I bought this in May 2018. It's just me and my husband, kids are long gone, so we average a load a week. ONE LOAD. We don't play in the mud nor get grass stains on our pants. We don't need to wash 10 towels at a time. Our needs are pretty simple. So, a month ago, during the spin cycle, it sounds like a 747 is taking off in our basement. Kept getting worse and louder. Had a technician come and tell us it was the bearing assembly. $135 to diagnose, $750 to fix. We didn't have an extended warranty but when we called customer service, we were told they'd cover the part but not labor. They never told us how much the part would cost nor any estimation on labor. Heck, if you're taking apart the whole machine to replace a <2 year old bearing assembly, it's probably going to be close to $600-$700. I'm beyond annoyed. Thing is, I loved the machine prior to this episode. So not only am I annoyed but really disappointed in the failure of the product and customer service's response. Silly me, I thought Electrolux would stand behind its products for more than one year.

We bought this washer about 2 and a half years ago. The front panel started to not respond to touch, but now it's on the fritz. When it's powered on the temperture selection keeps adjusting on its own constantly, the washer will start on it's own if the door is shut, but when it is running it constantly beeps and then stops in the middle of it's cycle. We can't use it at all anymore.

Great washer, keeps up with all the dirty clothes little kids make. Plus it is a quiet washer, a plus. But when a part broke not so quiet....and just that one part is half the cost of a new washer. So good washer but being so expensive I would expect the parts to be easier to replace.

I had a Samsung top loader I hated for 4 years and decided not to move with me to my new home. I installed a Whirlpool but sounded like rocks so had Lowes take it back and contacted my builders appliance guy and he and a friend both recommended Exlectrolux and I am loving this washer. Takes less time, and my clothes now clean with truly less detergent than I have ever used. Am so happy with purchase!

I bought this washer 2days ago. It cleans clothes well. The rinse and spin is amazing even at low speeds. I will write another review in about a year to better help future buyers know how dependable the washer is. Read your manual for sure, while it has a pods dispenser, the manual states use of pods isn™€™t recommended due to dissolve issues. My washer was also delivered by NFM without the shipping bolts. The manual states these should be removed when the washer is 4feet from final location. Pay attention to what your box store delivers. They also lost all my caps for the shipping bolt holes. I do love the machine though!

I have only had this machine for going on two years and have already had a repairman to come out 6 months ago because it wasn't draining, and now having to have one come out tomorrow because it won't spin. Having to have a 2 year old machine repaired twice in 6 months is two too many for the price paid.

My Electolux Steam Washer was delivered to me not in working order. By description of the appliance store's repairman, it had a defective cold water valve. Both the appliance sTore and Electolux refused to replace the machine. They repaired it. I that all machines are not quality controlled before shipping. So now I wonder what else could go wrong with this machine.

I have bought this machine a month ago and I do like the features. I didn't realize that to use the steam function, one has to buy a hose and get that hooked up. It is very quiet and the chime isn't so annoying.

It died after 3 months and one of the motherboards inside had to be replaced which was a huge inconvenience. I did not choose this unit. My landlord did. I was unhappy with it from the moment I got it.. I don't understand how this is High Efficiency when you have to use the extra rinse cycle AND an additional "rinse and spin" cycle just to get a tablespoon's worth of low sudsing detergent out of your clothing. It takes forever to do a wash and your clothes never really feel clean. And a brand new washer should not die and need to be repaired after only 3 months. If I wasn't a renter, I would not have this washer.

We wish we had gone with this machine years ago! This machine saves, saves, saves! Our water bill has definitely gone down and we use use way less detergent. The clothes come out incredibly clean with no smells or residue. Colors are brighter, whites are whiter. The stain treatment and sanitize cycles are fantastic. I can't get over how well this works - super gentle on my small loads, but it also handled a couple of large rugs effortlessly. The salesman recommended a soap that doesn't have fillers, which I'm also very pleased. It cleans well, and there's no residue on the rubber gasket.

Best laundry pair I've ever owned!

We bought this washer/dryer pair a month ago to replace a front load pair that we never liked! We needed a stacking set to fit into a very small laundry room. In addition, we needed a set that would be easily accessible for my 92 year old mother. This set fit the bill perfectly. But what I absolutely love about them are how quiet they are when running! If it weren't for the chime telling you your laundry is done, you wouldn't hear them at all! Love the lighted drums which help to make sure you get everything out when you load is done. They do an incredible job and without any fabric softener sheets, our clothes come out beautifully clean, soft, and wrinkle free! I would highly recommend them.

At first I was concerned about how little water that this washer uses, which seems like almost nothing. However, after confirming with other sources online, it appears that this is the new way of cleaning (clothes are not agitating in dirty water I guess). And I have to say that the clothes are coming out really clean. I've been really happy with this new washer. It is a little louder than I expected, but it is in a laundry closet, so it doesn't really bother us.

First of all, I wish the "Good" rating was "Great". I had to knock off a star, only because it's not perfect, but this doesn't mean it's just "good". For reference, I'm coming from a 15 year old front loader that has been falling apart for years. The EFLS517SIW is a great upgrade and I'm super happy with it. I love the size of the drum; it's so much larger than my old washer and I can fit a ridiculous amount of clothes in there. This machine is relatively quiet, and best of all, it doesn't dance across the floor during the spin cycle. The large digital display on the dial is bright and easy to read, and the controls are intuitive. Imperfections? Sure, but what doesn't have them? A couple of things I'd like to see change for the next model would be the rubber drum seal and the touch buttons. The drum seal should be manually dried after each wash with a cloth. Not a big deal, but it's kind of a hassle to pull back the top flap to get in there. Seems like it should be wide open - I'm fairly certain I've seen other models designed this way. Second, the touch buttons aren't terribly responsive. It takes the right amount of "tap" or pressure to get them right. Don't expect them to behave like a phone screen - they're not that sensitive. And because there can be a slight lag between pushing the button and the action, sometimes it's easy to think it hasn't been pushed. The overall build quality of this washer (and the accompanying dryer) are top notch. My first instinct was to buy one of the other big brands, but I'm glad I went with the Elecrolux.
