Bad design - lint builds up and massive noise!

I bought this Electorlux dryer (and washer) Oct 2017. Within the first year, the dryer continued to collect lint deep inside beyond the lint screen trap. This lint build up causes the rotating airway to be off-balance and causes the dryer to be VERY noisy. I bought a new lint screen ($50) thinking that would solve it, it did not. I removed the lint screen and inserted a vacuum tube deeper into the airwell and that helped for a month or so, then the noise was back. I then had to call an appliance tech ($130 ea time) to open up the entire dryer and remove lint deep inside the airway/rotation drum. I did this every 4-5 months to keep the noise down, 4 times so far!. I am so disappointed with this. Other than the terrible noise, the dryer works fine. Our appliance tech says it is a design flaw. I would NOT recommend buying this dryer.

I bought a washer dryer pair a month ago and live both. The dryer has a large capacity and can fit a very large load. it™€™s quiet and doesn™€™t take long for a cycle. The wrinkle release feature works very well.

BEWARE THE LINT

Unhappy in Michigan 9/17/2019

We purchased this dryer in June 2017. I've tried to resolve this with Electrolux to no avail. From early on, I noted that the lint screen didn't collect much lint. In Feb 2019, I noticed the lint screen wouldn't seat completely into the slot. When I removed the screen & looked into the slot, I found a build-up of lint that I had to WORK to unpack & remove. June 2019, the dryer was not drying, so I had it serviced. The tech replaced the lint screen & blower wheel assembly. He advised the only difference between the original screen & the new one was that Electrolux added a gasket. This was to correct a known issue with the original design - the screen did NOT trap the lint. Lint still collects in the lint trap area. He also advised that the blower wheel design was also changed. The fins were now at less of a curve & there are fewer fins. The old style allowed lint to collect on the fins - this is exactly what happened in our case. I was pleased that the parts were covered under the 2 year parts warranty, but NOT happy that I had to pay for the service call to replace parts Electrolux knew were a problem. I'm in general happy with the function of the dryer. I'm writing these comments as I'm not happy with the response by Electrolux to this issue. There final comment to my concerns was that if I'd read my use & care guide carefully, I would have read that every 18 months I should have the dryer serviced by a qualified tech. So, what Electrolux is saying is that if you buy this dryer, plan to spend some money every 18 months to offset their design flaws........doesn't make for a happy customer.

This dryer is great, with lots of capacity, and always gets my clothes dry. We had an issue with it getting noisy after a year of use, but they came out and swapped in an updated part that would fix the problem. Awesome customer support, and wonderful product.

We bought this set while building a new home. We were very excited to try them having never owned a front load set before. During the purchasing process we did a lot of research on the best units for second story laundry™€™s and these were always near the top of the list. When we moved in we were disappointed by the extremely loud pump and and to date we have yet to have a lid balance. We had Sears come in and service the unit but was immediately told that all the noise was normal and that ™€œfront load washers are difficult to load properly™€. The technician left with out looking at a thing. He ™€œtested™€ the system by running an empty rinse and spin cycle. He said, ™€œsee, it works fine™€. ™€œIt is how you are loading the machine™€. After he left I immediately called back to the store to return. If this is normal it won™€™t work with a 4 year old across the hall. They told me that they don™€™t accept returns. I was shocked. They told me that they would send another technician out and they did. This technician pulled the unit apart and found a bad pump and ™€œshock™€. It was cracked and leaking. I am still waiting for the parts to come in. I really like the looks and ™€œhow to operate™€ side of these units and host hope the repairs take care of the problems. I have lived in my new house for 1 month and 10 days. So it would be nice to not shake the house apart with a unit that balances.

3 Repair Visits in 10 Months

I bought this in December of 2017. I was originally pleased but then it made a noise like a bird was inside chirping. It was so loud you couldn't run it at night. I called for a repair. They came and took out some lint (even though I always cleaned lint tray after every time. He suggested I clean it out mid cycle which seemed strange but I did it and then the noise came back in 2 months. I called again and they cleaned out more lint and said Electrolux needs to design this product. Now the noise came back in 3 weeks. I have another visit today and will be requesting a new dryer.

Every 4 months needs to be taken apart because the blower motor gets covered in lint and it makes tons of noise. From the start, received dryer and the lint trap that came with the unit didn't have the little felt strip that went around the edges. Repair guy knew what the problem was before even looking at it, brought a new lint filter and for about 3 months was quiet and worked fine until the edge went flat and now it sounds like a tank again. Also, after seeing the difference in the lint filters and never owning an Electrolux dryer, called customer service and said the original filter never had the felt edge to not allow the lint to cover the blower. They basically told me it wasn't their problem and I was out of luck on the service call fee. Would never buy again or anything else from this company

I like this dryer very much. The delay start is great. Hubby loves the steam for refreshing his shirts. The only issue I see is that the "auto" detect drying doesn't seem to help get the clothes dry. They are never fully dry in the time allotted, so I wind up putting them in for longer.

Smooth and Quiet - NG to LP Hard

This dryer works as intended. The design is very cool and futuristic. My toddler son loves playing with the dials and calls it his spaceship. The dryer is very smooth and quiet. It is hard to know if it is running without looking at the clothes through the window. The reason for the 4 star rating is that clothes are still slightly moist when using the auto setting, and the conversion from natural gas to liquid propane was very difficult compared to other dryers. The parts for conversion are not readily available and the entire dryer's burner needed to be removed which was a long and painstaking process. Overall, this is a good dryer, and I would 100% recommend it for those who do not need to do a Natural Gas to LP conversion.

I bought this machine as Electrolux has the only models with a reversible washer door. So far, I'm really loving all the features and results. Only complaint is that the end of cycle chime is so quiet that you really only hear it if you're standing next to the machine, which is pointless.

I bought this dryer about two months ago with the matching washer. It is sooooo nice knowing that your clothes not only smell really clean, but also are really clean. I did about two months worth of research and window shopping, but kept coming back to Electrolux because of the overall ratings. It was more than we planned to spend on a washer/dryer set however we are already starting to see the financial return on it. Our first month™€™s electricity went down $60.00 (our former 3 year old dryer took twice as long to dry), our gas bill went down $20.00, and our water bill went down $40.00.

When I bought this machine it came not working right. It only would dry for 10 minutes or less and then shut off. The appliance guy came and reset all the error codes and it started to work great. But it was short lived and went back to its bad ways. So they ordered a new circuit board and are going to install it on Tuesday. So I™€™m hoping that will be my only problem.
